Defense Minister General in Chief Vladimir Padrino Lopez, following Rodriguez’s swearing-in before the National Assembly, conveyed a message via his Telegram channel. He emphasized, “Today has been a day of constitutional victory.”

“The Homeland continues its unstoppable march towards economic prosperity, development, and the reconciliation of all Venezuelans, with peace as both means and end, as our Commander in Chief Nicolas Maduro Moros has always insisted; preserving the sacred good of independence”, Padrino Lopez stated.

He further underscored that the FANB “will accompany Dr. Delcy Rodriguez, Acting President of the Republic, in the difficult task that geopolitical turbulence and the homeland demand. Count on us!”

On January 3, U.S. military forces carried out an assault on the presidential residence, kidnapping the Constitutional President Nicolas Maduro and First Combatant Cilia Flores and transferring them to New York in the United States.

According to Tania D’Amelio, pPresident of the Constitutional Chamber, the president’s kidnapping created a forced absence that prevents both materially and temporarily the exercise of his presidential functions.

In this context, the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice ordered Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to assume and exercise all powers, duties, and attributions corresponding to the Presidency of the Republic. This mandate was fulfilled with her swearing-in before the National Assembly (AN) on Monday, January 5.
